Full court passing and dribbling

Players are stood in each corner of the court with two players stood in the center circle. On the coach's signal players 1 and 2 start dribbling before passing to players 3 and 4 respectively who return the pass. Players 1 and 2 then dribble further before passing to players 5 and 6 and moving towards the elbow of the free throw line to receive the return pass from players 5 and 6. They then immediately pass to the players 7 and 8. Players 1 and 2 should now replace players 5 and 6.

Setup the practice as shown.Player 1 passes to player 2 before running up to first cone and receiving the pass back from player 2. They then make a cross-court pass to player 3 before running around the cones to receive the pass back player 3. They then turn and shoot.

Player 1 passes to player 4 and follows their pass. Player 4 passes to player 5 and then follows their pass. This process is repeated until the ball reaches player 10 who on receiving the ball dribbles back to the start.

8 Players with 2 basketballsPlayer 1 starts with one ball and passes to Player 2 who in turn passes to Player 3. Players have to follow their pass.As soon as player 1 has reached the spot vacated by player 2 then player 7 steps in and passes the second ball.

Fast Break and Lay Up Passing ...

The idea of this drill is to develop the fast break, with one player dribbling down the middle of the court and the other 2 players acting as outlet players each side. The the ball starts in the middle. This player (1) passes to the outlet player on their right (2). The player with the ball (2) then dribbles directly down the middle of the court. The player that passed (1) the ball then sprints down the right side of the court. The player who dribbled the ball (2) will then pass to this player (1) so they can make a lay up. Once the shot has been taken the passer (2) should get the rebound and outlet to the player who made the shot (1).

Players line up on two sides, with one player stood in the middle. The ball starts on the side where there are most players lined up. The first player passes to the middle player and runs to the left to receive the return pass. Players then perform a quick one-two pass before passing the ball to the player on the opposite side. The drill then starts again, with the player who made the initial pass remaining in the middle.

Lead Pass Passing - Basketball...

One player stands on each cone with a fifth player standing between two of the players, with the ball in hand. The player in front of the player in possession should set off on a lead run and receive the pass from the fifth player. After running onto the pass the next player in the square should make a lead run, looking to receive the next pass. After passing players should continue to run until they reach the unoccupied cone.

Two grids of equal size both with 4 players inside. One team starts with the ball and passes it around inside their area, trying to keep possession. In order to steal the ball and get the ball for their team one player from the other grid is allowed to enter the opposition team's grid and chase down the ball. When they win the ball the player plays an unopposed pass into their grid, follows their pass and then the exercise starts again.

Split the group in two at opposite corners of the court. Setup as show. Players run to the half way line, make a turn and then receive the ball from the opposite corner before having a shot from roughly the free throw line. Once the player has had a shot they collect their ball and run to join the queue.

Seven players with two balls. One player is based at the circle of the free throw line (Player 2). Player 1 passes to player 2, player 1 who makes a cut and goes for a hand off pass. Player 1 passes to player 3 and goes to replace player 3. The same happens on the other side of the court using players 4, 2 and 5.

The player under the basket starts with the ball and grabs a self rebound before outletting to the right wing. The player on the opposite wing, meanwhile, sprints to the other end of the floor on their wing.The right wing now passes long to hit the left wing in stride ready for an easy lay up. After passing, the right wing sprints to the cone opposite and runs to the original starting point.The player that started the drill will sprint to the opposite end of the floor as soon as they have passed it, ready to grab the ball out of the net to begin the drill again, with the left winger now being on the left wing at the other end of the court, collecting a pass and playing a long pass to the player that started at right wing.

One player has a ball and another player starts in the middle of a cross-shaped set of cones. On the command, Red Player 1 moves to touch one of the cones before returning back to the middle to receive a pass from White 1.The player then has to touch a different cone before returning back to the middle to receive a pass. Once the middle player has touched all four cones then the player switch over.
