Co-ordination 14

Drill can be used as part of a warming-up or stamina drill when done at a higher speed or for a longer time period. 1. Players move sidewards with sidesteps 2. Players skip in position and move sidewards with cross-legs.

Players step on benches.Start with left foot onto a bench-put right foot next to it - step down - step onto next bench and put left foor next to it.

Fast feetStart on left side of the first space of the ladder.First step is with the right foot sidewards into the first space of the ladder. Left foot follows, right foot out of the ladder on the right side, left foot follows etc. As fast as possible. -Part of warming-up-Part of special 15 min coordination training every training together with other coordination drills.-As part of e.g. a drill in which players have to do the ladder first and then throw at the goal afterwards.

Players jump -step on benches. Start with left foot onto a bench-put right foot next to it - step down backwards one foot after the other - step forward to next bench. Always one foot after the other. One bench forward is one bench backwards.

Players jump - step on benches. Stand and move sidewards.Start with left foot onto a bench-put right foot next to it - step down - add next foot - step onto next bench and put left foor next to it.

Players jump - jump onto benches. Jump with both feet together. Jump onto bench - jump off again - jump backwards onto the first one - jump onto it again - jump down forward - jump onto second bench. One bench forward is one bench backwards.

Players pass the ball clockwise around the area. The players nearest the end players receive the ball alternately and throw the ball to the next player who then passes to the end player. After they have made a pass the players inside in the square cross the court.

Anti-Clockwise - Triple Threat...

Blue players pass the ball around the grid, always throwing the ball in front of the player so that they have to meet the ball. This time though there are 6 players stood between the outer edge players and three defenders who are working together to mark two players each. The central defender must only go up and down, always marking the central blue players. Defender 1 and 2 must work together and cross over so that player one is always marking the player on their right side and player two is always marking on the outside left.

In this drill players receive a wide pass and then move towards the defender. Once they're within arm's reach they should move as if they're offloading the ball across their body (so a right hander would feint the pass to the left). At the same time they they should drop their left shoulder to make the move more convincing. After doing this the attacker should quickly shift their weight and push off their left foot to explode in the opposite direction and run around the right of the defender.

As players run forward to defend they should think about their stance and approach: They should take small, fast steps (never jump) to avoid over-committing. Approach diagonally, facing towards the ball, and angling their body to direct their opponent away from the goal area. Keep their arms open, wide and high. Stand on the balls of their feet with knees slightly bent.

Set up two groups on each side of the court. Players in group 1 start with the ball on the corner. Player 1 passes the ball out to player 2 who shoots on goal. After the shot both players run to the benches where they perform a series of quick jumps before joining the back of the opposite line on the other side of the court. Drill continues from other side of court.

Pass B1-B5.<BR>When B1 is just in front of the cone : pass B5-B1 who dribbles towards the goal and throws at the goal.<BR><BR>variations :<BR>- 3 step rythm (right handers : left,right,left and left handers : right,left,right)<BR>- 2 step or even in 1 step<BR>- jumping off : left handers : right foot, right handers : left foot<BR>- jump off with your 'wrong' foot (1,2,3 steps)

Players line  up a few meters behind the 7 meter line where a cone is placed on the floor. The wide player (blue 2) passes the ball to the player waiting in line who then runs forward to the cone. When they reach the cone players should be slightly to the left or the right of the cone. Before being allowed to shoot players must 'get past the cone' using an effective dummy, cutting around the other side of the cone before shooting. <br />variations :<br />- 3 step rythm (right handers : left,right,left and left handers : right,left,right)<br />- 2 step or even in 1 step<br />- jumping off : left handers : right foot, right handers : left foot<br />- jump off with your 'wrong' foot (1,2,3 steps)

Defenders try to defend their cones by only using their body, so no hands and arms allowed to hold the attacker.

Fast Break - Keeper Feed 1v1 5...

Set up two equal lines of players on both side of the baseline and two defenders just beyond the half way line. All baseline players have a ball each. The move starts with a one-two pass from the player on the baseline to the keeper. Upon playing the pass the players should run forward and receive the pass from the keeper on the run. After this players dribble the ball up court at speed. Once the attackers cross the half way line the defenders are allowed to put pressure on the attacker. Drill continues until a shot/interception has been made.

The defender is protecting the area between the 8-9 metre lines. The attacking players work in small 2 vs 1s. The player with the ball plays a one-two pass and then attempts to feint their way past the defending player. After the shot players rotate positions - with the shooter becoming the next defender and the defender joining the shooting players.
