Late Support

The wide attacker plays a one-two pass with the central attacking player. After this they then run forward and try to get past the left back. If they're unable to get past on their own they should wait for the support run from the central player who should aim to run between the defenders and play a jump shot on goal.

One on two - Defensive overload

The feeder in the center of the court plays the ball left and then right into the paths of the running attackers. The first wide defender goes to meet the ball straight away with the second, central, defender coming to cover and support the other defender after the attacker has crossed the 9m line. The drill ends when the ball is taken by the defender or after the attacker's shot on goal.

One-Two Pass and Shoot

Players stand in line waiting their turn to attack. The first player passes to player two in the middle who plays an immediate ball back into the path of the player who passed to them. This player should then catch the ball and shoot with a center shot on goal. Variations : - center shot when running - center shot hip height - center shot knee height First without a defender, later with a passive defender who only shows the attacker where to throw : defender has hands high --> attacker should decide for a shot at hip of knee height. Defender has hands low --> attacket decedis to throw with a high shoulder height center shot or running shot.

One-two pass then feint and shoot!

The defender is protecting the area between the 8-9 metre lines. The attacking players work in small 2 vs 1s. The player with the ball plays a one-two pass and then attempts to feint their way past the defending player. After the shot players rotate positions - with the shooter becoming the next defender and the defender joining the shooting players.

Quick Switch - Simple Screen

Three groups of players - a group on each wing and a line of three players a couple of meters behind the free-throw line. The play starts from the right wing with player 1 passing the first of the outfield players (player 2). Player 2 moves forward to meet the pass and then plays the ball to their left for player 3 to meet and then across to player 4. During this passing process player 1 must chase the passes across the court - screening to protect the pass and prevent the imaginary defender from receivnig the ball. When player 4 receives the ball they should shoot on goal. The drill then starts from the other side - going from left to right.

Right to Left - Passing for Space

The ball starts in the middle with player 1 who plays a one two pass with player 2 to their right. Right to Left - Passing under pressure

The ball starts in the middle with player 1 who plays a one-two pass with player 2 to their right. When this pass is being played player 3 should time their run so that as player receive the ball they are running just behind them - ready to catch the quick pass. Player 3 then runs with the ball and sets player 2 up for the shot on goal.

Set the screen - No getting past

White player 1 plays a one-two pass with green player 1 and moves forward with the ball. At this point green player 2 should advance and position themselves in a front of blue player 1 in a front screen position. Making use of the screen white player 1 makes a small dummy run towards their own goal and then quickly changes direction to run past the defender (making use of the screen). White player 1 then carries the ball to the other side of the court and the drill is then mirrored on the other side.

Shooting Rotations: Coming from the back court

Blue 1 starts the move by feeding the ball in from the wing to blue 2. Blue 2 then plays a 1-2 pass with blue 3 who runs onto the pass and shoots on goal. Defender may only try to block the shot : do not come forward!

Moving Goal Game small match p...

Two equal teams play with one ball in half the court. Two players who are on neither team hold an elastic cord (or a spare bib/piece of material) to form a moving goal. These two players must run around the pitch, keeping the goal open (stretched out). The aim of the game for the other players is to score a goal into this moving goal through use of a bounce pass.

Teams score a point for every 10 passes they make without losing the ball.Game 2:Alternatively you can play this game with goals. Five players from the attacking team position themselves around the goal area line so that they stretch the defenders. Each of them should be man-marked from a distance by the five white players. Hi, my team played a match yesterday. We have a 2 hours handball session tonight and i'm a bit concerned that players are tired and maybe not as enthusiastic to train.
