The aim is to get players to go wide into space when playing out from the back but primarily going forward.
The initial space from the goalkeeper or half back/midfielder must go outside the orange cones to the wide channels. Once it goes outside, the next ball can be played back into the central channel. The third ball must go back outside. The central players 6, 11, 3, 14 cannot go outside the central channel and likewise the wide players. The goal is to maintain channels through the oppositions half back line and avoid congestion through the centre.
