Duration: 10 - 20 minutes This small sided game emphasises counterpressing and quick transitions from attack to defence. Simply a versus game with 4 to 6 players per side. However, attacker can only score if all members of the team are on or past the half-way line. Complexity added by restrictng touches. Added complexity is shooting only allowed in the opposition 'D'.
Focus: When attacking, teammates cannot score until all players transition. The quicker the transition, the more time and options attacker has. If possession then changes, the attackers can be strategic and 'go long' to exploit the space behind the opposition. But, the same rule applies. They cannot score until all members of the team (except Goalkeepers) have transitioned to the halfway line. The emphasis is on teamwork and quality, collective communication. On the transition, having a solid game plan could be an advantage. Restricting touches and no passes above head height add more complexity.
