This drill uses the whole pitch rather than the half pitch in the previous drill and with the more space means the participants must work harder to cover the ground. This drill is a good example of a game situation which can be made harder or easier based on how well the team react to the space available to them. Furthermore its very good with improving the communication between the players as they must work together in order to do well. In this drill the pitch will be divided up to 3 parts which represent the defense, midfield and attacking zones in a game situation. The players will be restricted to 3 touch from the start in order to encourage fast play and more passing rather than just certain individuals taking on the other team. 2 players from each team will be in the defense against the 2 attackers and the 3 midfielders from each team will also be working against each other. The aim is to score against the other team by working the ball up the pitch using passing and communication, a midfielder can join in the attack if he passes into the attacking zone but must return to the midfield once his team has either lost possession, if the ball has gone out of play or if his team has scored a goal. As the drill plays on the different players will play different positions during the game which means that they have different situations they must react to and they will also play against different players so the difficulty can vary like in a game situation.
