Each Attacker is given a ball and starts in the box marked by the white cones, from here, they must try to pass the defenders who are guarding each gate. Passing through a gate successfully rewards points. 1 point for every gate. Once completing the gates, players go round the outside of the cones and back to the box to start again, they can leave the gauntlet at any time this way. If they are caught (Defender squashes their ball) they get no points and must go back to the start. Defenders change after 1-2 minutes. Keeps all players interested and gives them all plenty of opportunity with the ball at their feet. Progression: Gates can be widened/made narrower depending on if the players need more of a challenge or if the practice is too difficult Game was initially played without balls. This allowed the players to get an understanding for the game as well as working on different skills to what the gam would when they have the ball.
Can players keep close control of the ball? How are they keeping close control? Using big toes to touch the ball What ways can we get past the defenders? Speed? Skill? Teamwork? For more technically developed players: Would you use little toe at any point? Why?
