A simple passing pattern focusing on passing to and receiving with the leading foot and opening up into space. Setup 5 cone triangles arranged in a rectangle with a triangle in the middle 3-4 balls at each starting triangle. 2 ladders/sets of hurdles/cones for a physical activity Activity Each Receiver starts at the back cone in the triangle. The Receiver checks into the triangle calling for the ball to one side of the triangle. As the pass is made, the player will check out of the triangle to receive the ball and play their first touch through the triangle and then making the pass to the next player. Once the pass is released, the player will follow their pass. When the receiver is in the middle they must adjust to side with a ball ready to pass into the middle. When the long pass is completed the player must complete a physical literacy exercise. While waiting in line players should have a ball at their feet performing bells/toe taps/other skill actions.
Focus on receiving with the leading foot. Body position to allow the first touch to direct the ball to the correct spot. Passes should be made to the leading foot of the receiver Pass should be made accurate between the cones where the receiver is standing. Receiver should check into the space between cones as they would between defenders Receiver should attack the ball and not wait for it to arrive.
