The aim of this game is to explore how to outwit an opponent. Players should be put in groups of four (two pairs) and given one ball. All players should have a stick. The playing area consists of a 10m x 10m box marked with four corner cones. Players start on opposing lines and the ball carrier must try to get past the opponent. The role of the defenders is to try to delay the ball carrier for 5 seconds. The attacking pair alternates after âbest of 3â attempts. Progressions: Ways to increase difficulty include: 1. Explore the use of different dodges2. Has to include a change of hands3. Introduce some contact (safe tackling of the stick)4. Add more defenders
Few things to focus on: 1. Correct cradle action2. Stick protection - postition body between defender and stick (this is where changing hands becomes very useful)3. Change of direction4. Change of pace5. Develop and refine dodges
