once ball has reached opposite side of field and from tackle 1, adopt another 2 more forms of play necessary to complete a set of 3 tackles total on that side of the field ie...zero and an A...or 1 and a zero...or 2 zero's etc... the idea is to get the ball as fast as possible to the opposite side of the field adjacent to the scrum..and with a total of 3 tackles on that side hopefully we can drag the oppositions forwards to break away from the scrum to shuffle across field to set up for defence on the other side where the attack is meanwhile our predominantly forwards stay on the side of the field the scrum took place waiting for the completion of the 3rd tackle so that they can run at the exposed and predominantly smaller backline because of the oppositions forwards shuffle
link players and decoy runners play an important role on ball return to predominantly forwards area another way to return the ball is with a HB decoy attack..see reference
