Pass A to B and back.
B tries to get past 1.
Pass to C if B cannot break through.

COACHING POINTS

Defender 2 MUST remain in his across position to make the pass from B to C as difficult as possible!

Defending the pivot or blocking the shot:

The defender has to solve two problems:

1. Pass A-B-C pass to pivot F who tries to catch the ball and throw at the goal. Defender G tries to defend.

Immediately after this situation:

2. Pass A to B who makes a goalshot from 9 metres. Defender G has to block the goalshot.

3:2:1 defence

Defending the pivot, by the pivot defender 1:

A-B-C-D pass to pivot F who tries to catch the ball and throw at the goal.

After the pass they sprint around one of the cones. Then they go in search for the ball and take a new position. A to B, B to C, C to D, D, E, E to A etc

3:2:1 defence

Defending the pivot, by the pivot defender 2:

1. A-B-C pass to pivot F who tries to catch the ball and throw at the goal.

2. Pass A to B who chooses to pass to the pivot or give a pass to C who passes to the pivot.

3:2:1 defence

Shadow defence:

Blue players 1, 2 and 3 stand in a line with a supply of ball to try and feed to blue player 4.

The defending player (Red 1) must stay in front of the receiving player and mirror their movement across the court, preventing as many balls as possible from reaching blue player 4.

The receiving player must change pace and direction in order to lose their marker but they are not allowed to step in front of the defender.
