DESCRIPTION

Player B dribbles around the cone with a ball and Player A sprints around the cone without a ball.

Together they play against the 2 red defenders and they try to score a goal.

COACHING POINTS

Red defenders may change their defending behaviour: step forward and try to win the duel or block defensively.

OFTEN USED WITH...

feint(dummy) and throw:

Pass B2-B1-B2, feint(dummy) and throw at the goal with a jump shot far.

Variations:

3 step rythm (right handers : left,right,left and left handers : right,left,right)
2 step or even in 1 step
jumping off : left handers : right foot, right handers : left foot
jump off with your 'wrong' foot (1,2,3 steps)

defence when attackers catch the ball/shoot/pass

Cross over and score:

Setup as shown, with the player on the far right passing to the player in the middle. The player then crosses with the player on the left who takes a shot at goal.

After catching the ball B2 feints as if to go to the right, but changes to the left to cross with B3. B3 first feinst to start to te left, but quickly sprints to the left to cross with B2, catch the ball and throw at the goal.

Players swap positions after throwing.

2 vs 2 - Take it or leave it:

Blue 2 starts with the ball and dribbles with it from right to left. As they set off on their run blue player 1 times their run so that they cross just behind blue 2.

As the players' paths cross, and the defender's view is obscured, blue 2 offloads the ball and player 1 then runs to the outside of the goal area line and shoots.
