What will you suggest to get a perfect run up ?
What will you suggest to get a perfect runup for a bowler ? I am having trouble with my bowling rythm for unstable runup??? I find it really hard some time to deliver the ball on right landing. also how can i improve the speed of my bowling?
I usually coach juniors, including my boys, the following way.Get couple of your mates and let them help you out this way. Put a marker on the ground for a starting point of run-up. Remember, this has to be in an open place prefereably on a cricket field. Get one of your mate to monitor your landing the other to monitor the pitching of the ball. Start running from the first marker you placed on the ground and bowl when ever and where ever you are comfortable to bowl. Get your mates to put a marker where your foot landed for delivery and where the ball actually was pitched. Keep doing this and keep placing the markers for every delivery, may be a dozen times. Make sure your starting point is same all the time. Once completed a spell of dozen balls, analyis your landing and pitching. take the point where you were most consistant. Now place a set of stumps at correct distance and use the run-up length. You may have to do this several times to get it 100%.For speed of delivery, try to hook your free arm elbow whilst delivering the ball. Do not let it float in the air as straight. Start with slow speed until length and line is gained before increasing the pace.I hope this helps you achive what your after.
