Hi there, here are some tips to increase power in your cover drive:

Technique:

  • Ensure a balanced stance and proper footwork, stepping towards the ball.
  • Use a high backlift and maintain a smooth downswing.
  • Lead with your front elbow and transfer body weight into the shot.

Strength:

  • Strengthen wrists, forearms, shoulders, and core through targeted exercises.

Timing:

  • Focus on meeting the ball under your eyes and hitting it at the optimal point.

Practice:

  • Regularly practice with throwdowns or a bowling machine, emphasising technique and timing.

Follow-Through:

  • Complete the shot with a full follow-through, ensuring a natural pivot.

Consistent practice and strength training will enhance your cover drive power.

I hope this helps,

Cam
