I would like to add permanent lines for Under 10 tennis and am wondering if anyone has any experience doing this and can help me avoid problems with adult members?
This is a difficult one. I've got the same problem at the schools and club I'm coaching at. The best thing to do is, it to make your marks with dots on the white lines, where you have to lay your lines for organge court. then you know where to put your lines down and this will safe you time measuring excatly the right dimensions. Your roll down lines is best.
Adult memebers, get confused.. think it's the age thing. hehe (joke)

For mini red if is simple to use a few throw-down lines for extensions, for mini orange I tried the following.
1. First mark out a court with masking tape for a tournament, make sure it is a different colour than your lines but not too intrusive for the adults, I would suggest dark blue. Leave the tape down for a while until some annoying adult pulls it up...
2. Next state that putting lines down each week is not good for your time management and also they come up easily and make a hassle for adults, then suggest trying 1 court with blue lines, to see if this is ok, once it becomes an accepted norm, then go for the rest of the courts.
Hope this helps

The Tennis Center I am a member of has painted permanent lines in a slightly darker shade of the court color. It is barely noticeable as an adult player and I have not heard anyone complain.
