Breaking through to shoot

Blue players line up behind three cones outside the 9 meter line. The defender stands between the 7 and the 9 meter line, ready to block the attacker's run. Attacking players take it in turns to dribble forwards and try and shuffle, feint and force their way past the defender. After they have completed their run players then move in a clockwise direction to the next group.

Defending a 2v2 with libero

White 1 starts the move by passing the ball to the white player on either side. From this point on the drill is live and the two blue players must try and defend the two white players. Blue 1 is libero and follows the direction of player, positioning themselves so that they are ready to cover and help out in case of emergency.

Feinting under pressure

Players line up on both sides of the court with a ball in hand. They take it in turns to pass the ball to player 1 and then progress up the court. As they move down the court the defender picks up the runner and passively shadows their movement. The attacker must then move inwards before then sharply cutting outside to lose their marker, receive the ball from player 1 and make a shot on goal.

Pairs move to and away from each other and move in to each other while passing. They should try to receive passes while moving towards the ball and also while retreating, working on receiving the ball while running in different directions and passing to moving players.

Players stand and move in one line.Hands to shoulders or hands on hips of player in front of you.There is one tag man who tries to tag the last player of the queue.Other players move in such a way that it becomes difficult for the tag man.variations :- change the last person of the group every time he gets tagged- change after 1 minute- make the queue shorter

Two man shut out defence

Blue player 1 is the feeder in this drill and throws the ball to the players attempting to penetrate the defence. Blue players 2, on both sides of the court, take it in turns to run towards the defenders and try to find a gap through which they can run and make a shot on goal. If the attacker is shut out by the two defenders they can throw a one-two pass to blue player 3 and move into space to have one more attempt at breaking through.

Two equal teams play with one ball in half the court. Two players who are on neither team hold an elastic cord (or a spare bib/piece of material) to form a moving goal. These two players must run around the pitch, keeping the goal open (stretched out). The aim of the game for the other players is to score a goal into this moving goal through use of a bounce pass.

Based on the defender's movement player 4 should decide whether to pass to player 6, player 5 or not pass at all and take the shot on themselves. Blue player 1 starts with the ball and moves to make their defender follow them out of position, once they've dragged them outside they pass to player 2 who does the same and then passes to player 3 who passes to player 4. At this stage the game becomes 'live'. Blue 6 is stood between the two defenders and blue 5 is ready to make a run down the outside. Depending on the decisions made by the defence player 4 can pass early to player 6, throw the ball into the path of player 5 or simply go it alone and take the shot on themselves.
