Around and back - Interception pressure

Ball starts with player 1 who feeds the ball into player 3. The attacking players must then pass the ball around the triangle. The defender's job is to try and cut out the first pass and then apply pressure on the attackers to force the error or make the interception.

Triangle Passing 1 - Meet the ball

Blue players pass the ball around the triangle. Players should run forward (to the cone) to meet the pass and before passing the ball around the triangle should try and use a change of direction/feint. Tell your players to be creative - even though there's no opposition they should practice their player beating moves.

One player stands at the top of the triangle, this player is the feeder. They stand in front of the three other players who are stood in a line. The feeder throws a simple overarm to each player. When the ball is passed to them players should advance to meet the pass and then return it to the feeder.

Blue players pass the ball around the grid. At the same time the red players moves to prevent the pass to the green player in the middle of the square. The aim of the game for the outside players is to wrong-foot the defending player and create an opening in which they can play the pass to the green player.

Players pass the ball in an anti-clockwise direction around the grid. Players should aim their passes at the cone and the receiving players should step forward to <em>meet the pass</em> and then in turn continue the drill by passing to the next player.

Three players line up across the width of the pitch, these players are the return passers. When they receive a pass they throw it immediately back to the player who passed to them. The remainder of the players have a ball each and start on the sideline. Their job is to run the width of the pitch, passing the ball to all the return passers, catching the return pass and then carrying on to the next player. When they reach the other side of the pitch they run around the cone and then dribble as fast as they can to the back of the queue.

The blue players must pass the ball between themselves with the intention of stretching the defenders as much as possible. When the center left two attacking players have the ball (blue 4 and 3) the first defender (red 1) covers the space.When the center right two players have the ball (blue 3 and 5) it is the second defender's (red 2) responsibility to cover the space. The defender who is not immediately defending should shuffle over to make sure that the defence is not leaving large gaps. The outlets are the left wing and right wings where the defenders can not go.

Player A starts for 4 tasks.<br>1. C gets pass from B and tries to get past defender A.<br>Defender A prevents this, after this defensive task he sprints to position 2 and receives pass from B and shoots at the goal.<br>3. Then he runs to position 3 and prevents action by D who also reveives pass from B.<br>4. Last action by A is receiving pass from B and shooting at the goal.Then defender changes position with A.

Goalkeepers start on one side of the court and move forward to the other side. While doing this, they make short sideways movements from left to right with their hands in the air as if ready to make a save. Players should go up and down the half court twice.

The feeder in the center of the court plays the ball left and then right into the paths of the running attackers. The first wide defender goes to meet the ball straight away with the second, central, defender coming to cover and support the other defender after the attacker has crossed the 9m line. The drill ends when the ball is taken by the defender or after the attacker's shot on goal.

Handball: Stop and Throw a Fas...

Goalkeeper stands on the goal line. A player throws two balls at the goal, which the goalkeeper tries to stop. He then sprints forward, touches the ball of the blue player, who throws it high over the goalkeeper's head into the goal. When the goalkeeper has touched the ball he jogs back to save the lobbed shot before it crosses the goal line. Once under control of the ball, he throws a fast break pass to one of the players half way up the court.

Conditioned game 545 3:2:1 def...

Use this conditioned game on a half court with your team. The defending side will have 6 players plus a goalkeeper and the attackers 6 (no goalkeeper). Depending on how much time you have you can use each of the variations below for 5 minutes at a time before changing the conditions for goalscoring. Only the pivot (blue 6) may score. Only the wing players (blues 1 and 5) can score. Players may only score after completing 10 passes.
