Two GKs working in 2 seperate goals at 90 degrees to each other. Two servers in central positions and two servers in wide positions. GKs begin facing the post and both turn in from the post at same time and then deal with a shot. GK1 and GK2 then cross over and get a shot from opposite server in wide positions.

Objective: To defend against a winger or opposite full back overlapping Detail: This practice uses 7 players (2 full backs 2 wide players 1 CB 1 Att 1 GK) Use the same area/side of the pitch as above. Serving full back serves the ball from half way line. Defensive full back starts 10 yards outside of 18 yard box. Attacking full back passes the ball to wide player. As ball travels defending full back pressurises ball. Full back can now pass to centre forward or overlapping full back. Defending centre back and wide player are added. Full Back: Having pressured wide player, if opposing full back overlaps, defensive full back tracks overlapping run. If wide player passes or dribbles inside to centre forward full back tucks in close to centre back. Wide Player: If full back overlaps, wide player to pressurise opposing wide player and force the ball down the line. Centre Back: Move within 10 yards of full back to remain compact whilst positioning ball side of centre forward.

Players start on the baseline and run one at a time. The next player starts once the player in front of them has run around the first cone. Players sprint around the outside of the 18 yard box and then run around the cone near the D. Players then slow down to a 50% jog and use quick feet to place both feet in each rung of the ladder. After running through the ladder players run around the next cone and slalom in and out of the cones/poles, facing forward at all times and using quick shuffle feet. Finally players jog back around the cones back to the start point.

Great for warm ups. Players dribble through the cones, pass to the waiting player at the end of the cones and then run back to touch the first red cone. They then turn and sprint back inside the red square where they play a quick one-two. After this they run back towards the start line, looking to run onto the weighted pass from the blue player. The next player then goes.

A Christmas themed fun football drill for players. Set up as shown in diagram with cones in the shape of a Christmas tree. Players line up in 2 lines. On the whistle, players must run in the direction show on the diagram. First one to the ball, earns the right to shoot at the keeper. Split into 2 teams and keep score. Try to match players with similar agility.

Players 1 and 3 (target players) feed the ball into the player who is facing them. This player must then try and get the ball to the target player at the other end. If the other player wins the ball, he can play to any target player.

The drills starts with one player from group 1 (reds) running with a ball to the opposing goal, trying to score. As soon as they have a shot at goal, a player from group 2 (yellows) runs with a ball to the other goal to try and score. The player that had the first shot has to try and defend against the player from group 2. When this player scores or loses the ball to the defender, the next player starts from group 1 and the player that had the shot becomes the new defender. The player that had the first shot and then defended, goes to the back of there queue. (Players should always finish up in the same queue and attack the same goal).

Encouraging 1st time shooting by using the correct technique to take the shot early and finish from close range. Get your knee over the ball and use the pace of the ball to generate the power. By trying to strike the ball too hard, the likelihoood is the accuracy will be poor. Blue 1 plays ball into area and clue 2 moves in to shoot 1st time. Blue 2 goes to replace blue 1 and blue 1 runs around working area to take blue 2s place.

Players on the wing run with the ball down the side of the pitch before crossing for an attacker who has ran into the area, usually at the far post. Attackers begin further back than the wingers and in line with the corner of the penalty area. Once the coach blows his whistle, the attacker must sprint at full speed to reach the area and get on the end of the cross.

Set up as shown. Player 1 starts with the ball in the middle of the field and plays a 1-2 pass with player 2 before passing out wide to player 3. At this point, players 1 and 2 run towards the penalty area, ready to receive a cross, while one of the defenders goes out wide to put pressure on the crosser. Player 3 will cross the ball into the box where players 1 and 2 will try to beat the defender to it and score.

4 attacking players keep switching the ball (each transfer has to go via both link players). Only one defender is only allowed to go out and defend when the attackers have received the ball. If the attacking team switch the ball the defender has to pass the ball to the other defender who has to stop the ball before then being allowed to defend against the wing player. The aim is for one of the wingers to dribble the ball through the grid on the side line and then cross the ball to the opposite winger coming in.

In pairs one player throws and catches the ball the other player receives the ball with his chest and plays the ball back with a volley. While both players are moving.

Taking only one step before striking the ball, players should pass using the instep of both their feet - left and right.

Station 1 player on each end line and a lone defender in the middle of the area. Repeat in 3 other areas for a total of 12 players. The outer players each have a ball. The object of the game is for the outer players to get over the middle line without losing the ball to the middle player. The middle player can only move along the line between the cones. If the defender wins the ball, then the attacking player and defender change places and roles. Keep score of how many times a player can get over the line without losing the ball.

Number 2 groups of players from 1-5 and get them to stand on either side of the goal. Call a number. The two players (one from each side) whose number was called race around the cones to enter the area. When a player has entered through the gate the coach feeds the ball to the side where the first player has entered. Player runs onto the ball and tries to score before the other player can make a challenge/block.
