Demo of Pressure, Cover, Balance
Duration: 5 minutes Set Up: Area will be approx. 30mx30m 3 cones approx. 10 metres apart 3 defending players, 3 attacking players 1 ball with attackers Extra players should watch the drill and listen for explaination Instructions: Attackers and defenders will use this demo to gain understanding of the Pressure, Cover, Balance. Attacking players will pass ball between each other to engage the movement of the defending players. Defenders are not trying to win the ball, just learn positioning. Defender closest to the attacker with the ball pressures attacker. Ensure correct jockeying technique The other 2 defenders will provide cover/balance for the pressure playerIf the middle defender is Pressure, the other 2 defenders are at a 45 degree angle and 5-10 metres away, behind and beside the attacker. If one of the end defenders, middle defender is at 45 degree angle and 5-10 metres away. Far defender (Balance) is at about 22 degree angle from the middle defender Pressure player is only focused on the player with the ball Cover player watches Pressure player and looks for opposing players Balance player watch Cover player and opposing team.
