The players are split in to 3 groups- 1 group of 8 and 2 groups of 4. The group of 8 must retain possession, with only 2 players allowed in both halves of the square. The other 6 players are confined to their half (3 & 3). The first group of 4 must press the ball and cut passing avenues. If they win the ball, they must try and find a pass to the third group, who are based around the edges of the pitch. If they do this successfully, they gain a point and play restarts with the orange team. On the coaches instruction, the black and white teams must swap who is in the middle and who is on the edges. This means the intensity of the pressing stays high throughout the session.
As a coach, we must make sure we are rotating the pressing teams frequently to keep high intensity. This practices pressing the ball, ball retention and creating passing angles.
