Create two teams: RED with 6 players (2 DB, 3 MF, K) and GREEN with 4 players (1 F, 3 MF). Ball begins with the keeper. Simulate a goal kick situation or a keeper save with the ball in her hands. Red is working to possess out of their half by connecting passes and working the ball outside to the target pop-up goals on either side of the field. Green is defending trying to win the ball back and counter attack on the goal. Red scores by getting the ball into a pop-up goal. Green scores by getting the ball in the goal defended by the keeper.
Encourage red players to only go forward when that is an available option. Consider options to drop the ball, switch field, and play lateral balls.
