Players will take it in turns to run through the skills corridor starting on the left which will be working the right foot and then accross to the right working on the left foot. Each time the players run through the corridor they will perform a different skill. Left side (Red) working Right foot and Right side (Blue) working Left foot. Imagining the cone is a defender. Exercise 1 - OUTSIDE OF THE FOOT. Rotate around the cone 2 times. Exercise 2 - V-CUTS. Exercise 3 - ROLL OVERS. Exercise 4 - DRAG BACKS. Exercise 5 - INSIDE OF THE FOOT. Rotate around the cone 2 times. After each player has completed each exercise they will run down the outside of the circiut and carry the drill and shoot at goal. PROGRESSION: (1) The coach can start to shadow players applying a little pressure at the cones so that the players will have to shield the ball and retain possession. (2) Optional. Add a goalkeeper to make placing shots more difficult. (3) Place hoops in the corners of the goal to promote accuracy of shooting from the players. Challenge them with a points per goal game through a hoop. 2 points for a normal goal and 5 points through the hoop for example. Author: Jason King, Windsor FC Youth
