DESCRIPTION

  • To encourage the pupil to monitor the correct path of the stroke

    Lay a club shaft on the ground and swing the putter above it (1). The blade should stay on top or slightly inside the shaft during the backstroke (2) and on top and square to the shaft in the forward swing (3).

    Place some upside down cones in between the participant and the target.

    Teams get minus points if any ball land or touches the hazard.

  • To encourage the pupil to adopt a correct stance and ball position for putting.

    Pupils begin by standing with their feet together pointing toward the ball (1), move the foot nearest to the target 1 club head towards the target (2), Move the foot furthest from the target two-club heads from the target (3).

  • To encourage the pupil to maintain a square clubface throughout the stroke

    Using Blu-Tack or plastcine affix a golf tee onto the putter face, near the centre of the blade (1). Encourage the pupil to swing the putter above a club shaft (or other straight line) to monitor the clubface position throughout the stroke (2, 3).
