DESCRIPTION

Players take it in turn to run and squeeze through the small openings between the blue players, being strong to drive through the blocking man.

Blue players must keep their arms down when blocking the running man and only use their core strength to prevent the man running through (no shoulder barges).

COACHING POINTS

Look for strong, driving play. The running players should have their arms slightly bent to brace for impact

Two groups.

Blue players stand very close together.
White player must go between every player.
Blue players may only use their bodies to 'squeeze' the white players.
White players may use their hands and arms.

Sumo strength

Cone off a small square area with all between 4-8 players inside it.

In a Sumo style players, using only the side of your body, hands and arms, players must try to push and pull the other players out of the square.

See who the last player is inside the square.

tag my tail

Players form a long queue.
Hands on shoulders or hips.
The front player moves to tag the last player of the queue.

variation :
- change tag man after every successful tag
- change after 1 minute
- make the queue longer or shorter.

Relay with blocking

Split your group in half and line them up behind two different cones on the sideline.

On the coach's call players from both line run one at a time around the cone and back. Once they're back the next player can go.

However, to make things hard for them there are two players on the cone on the opposite side of the court who are trying to block the running players. Which group will finish first?
