DESCRIPTION

Pairs with an attacker and a defender. The defender tries to get the ball.

COACHING POINTS

Go for the ball on the dribbling arm side of the attacker.

Work with feints as well when you want to go for the ball.

OFTEN USED WITH...

Cross the line:

In the goal area players are static and dribbling the ball on the spot.

When the trainer blows their whistle the players must try to dribble the ball across a certain line without being tackled.

Defenders must try to prevent players from getting past them.

dribble and score:

Attackers dribble towards the goal and throw at the goal.
Once done, they get their balls back and go to the other queue.

Change dribblers:

Players move around in pairs. One player dribbles, the other one follows. When the trainer blows his whistle the followers goes for the ball and go on dribbling.

Center Shot Technique when running:

Left-handers should shoot with their right foot in front, right-handers shoot with their left foot in front

As you wind up to shoot get your hand at the same height as your shoulder and then pull the ball backwards. Your forearm should form a 90 degree angle with upper-arm

Hip turns backwards together with the hand behind the ball with your fingers slightly spread.

The third and final step involves moving forwards with a large and explosive drive - planting the 'weak' foot in the direction of the goal as the hand, arm and hips move forwards in the final movement.
