DESCRIPTION

Attacker starts dribbling forward to the other side to score a goal. Red player faces the attacker and watches which side the attacker dribbles. Defender changes into this direction running backwards with cross-over technique.

After every action, the defender and attacker change roles.

OFTEN USED WITH...

blocking ball and attacker's ways:

When B4 passes to B3, R1 runs forward to B1 to defend.
When B4 passes to B5, R2 runs forward to B2 to defend.

variation :
- complete man-to-man defence on wing player
- run forward, position diagonally, face to the ball, in between attacker and goal : R1 has got right hand in front of B1 and R2 has got left hand in front of B2
- let wing player catch the ball whereafter a duel far from the goal

defenders movements:

W has got the ball.
W and B make side steps and go to eachother and W gives ball to B and B to W etc.

B pass around.
R1 and R2 defend W1 and W2 when the left their own wing player.

Break through the blockade:

The white players take it in turns to run at the two defenders in front of them and try to burst through their blockade.

The defenders cannot raise their arms to block the attacker's run but can use their arms to protect themselves and also use their entire body to try and make it difficult for the player to break through.
