DESCRIPTION

Simple handling drill working on catching, passing and straight line running. Line up in lines of three or four. The feeder plays the ball to the first receiver and player transfer the ball along the line of players.

COACHING POINTS

Make sure players stay square and run straight
Hands out early to receive the ball
Transfer the ball across the body, don't bring the ball into the chest
Players should start with their outside foot forward
A great drill for large groups

Catch and pass channel:

8+ playersÂ
BallÂ

Players stand at equal distance away at differnt points along the grid.
One working player runs in the middle of the channel.Â
The players on the outside pass the ball into the running player.
The Working player must complete 2 sets of passing - 1 run off each hand.Â

Passing

Clockwork Passing:

4 + groups
Balls

All players have a ball, start by passing the ball once left then twice right, then 3 times left etc.

if the ball goes down you start again.

Winning team is the team who competes the most amount of passes without the ball going down.

Warm Up

Speed Handling Race:

Two lines of four stand back to back with the ball on the right hand side of each line. On go they both sprint 15m whilst passing down the line and then turn to run back whilst returning down the line to the player who started with the ball.
