Skills Focus: Attacking Space, Handling, Decision Making, Tracking Lines

Overview: Attacking players work to attack the space, break through the defensive line and offload to supporting players. Players work hard to get on the shoulder of the ball carrier.

Key Improvement: Flooding players through to support the ball carrier.

Bounce & Compete For The Ball

Skills Focus: Rucking, Jackling, Technique, Contact Conditioning

Overview: Players start face down on the ground next to two sausage pads with a ball wedged in the middle. On the whistle they jump up into a strong and safe jackle position to compete for the ball.

Key Improvement: Improve the ability to bounce off the ground and compete for the ball.

Creating The Overlap With A Loop

Skills Focus: Ball Handling, Timing, Creating Space, Attacking Awareness

Overview: Three vs three. The attacker follows their initial pass and loops around the middle man. They receive the ball back and attack the outside to create an overlap and score.

Key Improvement: Improve both the timing of the run and pass delivery to create space on the outside.

Three Man Tackle Grid

Skills Focus: Tackling, Defensive Realignment, Contact Conditioning

Overview: Continuous defensive drill. Defending in threes aiming to make the tackle and work together to stop the attackers breaking through the line. Defenders quickly realign into position to defend again.

Key Improvement: Defending under fatigue to improve tackling ability and defensive structure.

Drop Out Touch

Skills Focus: Attacking Space, Ball Handling, Defensive Conditioning

Overview: Attack and defence drill. Every time a defender makes a touch they drop out of the game until play breaks down. Attackers look to exploit the space whilst defenders work hard when outnumbered.

Key Improvement: Identifying and exploiting space in attack and defensive work rate.

Collecting & Catching Difficult Balls

Skills Focus: Ball Handling, Reactions, Regathering Possession, Offloading

Overview: The player feeds two players who are holding balls. These players bounce the ball back and the receiver has to try and regather possession of the ball without knocking it on.

Key Improvement: Effectively regathering possession of the ball.
