Locate the target; then, eyes on the ball

Step on to non-kicking foot; guide ball to ground; kick ball at the instant it touches the ground.
Follow through with kicking leg.
Hold the ball nearly vertical with bottom hand, with top hand steadying rather than holding.
Keep head over the ball during run up.
Drop the ball, do not throw it into the air first.
