Having a solid baseline game is one thing but if you can?t finish points at the net then all your good work will amount to nothing. Strong volleying skills will allow players to make the correct decisions, mix up their net shots and ultimately win more points.
What's in the Session?
Drill work on the basic volleying technique as well as the overhead. Playing at the net gives great opportunities to win points in shorter and many times easier ways. Being able to take the ball out of the air and have a point of contact well over the height of the net are benefits of hitting volleys and overheads.
We also focus on position, before and after hitting a volley. One of the reasons why many players lose points even after hitting great shots is wrong positioning on the court. Where you position yourself on the court can increase or decrease your chances of winning the point so learning tactical positioning should be incorporated into net game patterns to guarantee maximal effectiveness at the net.
