This week's session aims to get your playing using the lob in a variety of different game situations - drawing their opponents into the net and then lifting the ball up and over their heads - catching them off-guard.
Whether playing a defensive lob to get back and recover, or an attacking lob to win the point, this session can be used with your players to boost their confidence when they see their opponent approaching the net!
Origins of the lob: The lob was first used back in 1878, by the Englishman Frank Hadow (aka the "Loftiest Champion") in the Wimbledon Men's Final, which he went on to win 7/5, 6/1, 9/7.
Whether it's used as a last resort shot or as a means to catch your opponent out of position - the lob is one of the most versatile shots in the game!
