Hi, I'm coaching my second team union (as i have injured my knee and cant play for the next few months) and the team consists of mainly league players, so they are rugby minded but will need help getting to grips with union - lineouts scrums when to and not to kick where to kick to etc. Any tips / ideas would be great.
For me I came from league first thing I had to learn was release the ball after being tackled.
2nd thing was the gate where it is and what you can and cant do.
3rd was the scrum process with the flankers added and what the roles are of each forward.
4th lineout how to lift correctly .
5 teaching of the maul and learning the purpose of it.
6 what is it when you mark a catch where and when do you mark the catch what can you do after you have marked the catch.
7.how to counter ruck and what do we want to achieve from the counter ruck.
I hope this helps.
