Hi I am a new 19 year old coach, it is my first time coaching and currently am looking after a year 3/4 team for touch rugby. I was wondering if anyone could give me some simple drills to help build the students passing and spreading out skills for touch rugby
Zac
Have a look at our "Drills" section as there are lots of practises there that you can adapt to suit you.

I personally play these rules -
* Two-hand touch.
* Ball carrier must go to floor, roll once and place the ball back.
* One player from each side must bridge over the ball (ruck).
* Defence must identify pilar/post defenders.
* Infinite tackles.
* Game restarted with a free-kick.
You can then add your own rules to suit you.
To encourage them to use width maybe say that both teams need to have one player within a few metres from the touch line.
To enourage passing you could say that every phase must include two passes. To make room for these passes ask every tackler to jog to the side a do 5 sit-ups or press-ups before rejoining the game.
Simon I will make sure to check out the drills section- cheers mate
Jonothan%3A Thanks so much for those ideas, I will be sure to try and use them next time I have practice with my students
