3 ball round the clock

Setup: 4 players stand in a diamond with 3 balls. A 5th player stands in the middle. To start the drill 1 of the outside players throw their ball to the player in the middle who has to return the ball the player who did not have a ball before the ball was thrown. The middle player then rotates to receive the next ball and the drill continues in this way.

Set up: 4 posts are set up in the shape of a diamond. Each post being 9 metres from the centre of the diamond. You need 3 teams of 4, 4 bats and 1 ball. Batting team each stand at a post. The other 2 teams take the bowler and fielding roles. The Drill: The bowler decides who to bowl to first, and the remaining 3 batters stand behind the post and make contact with it. The bowler bowls the ball for the batter to hit. The fielders can field the ball into any post to get any of the batters out. If a batter is out then their team loses 4 points. 1 point is scored for every post a batter reaches. Each team of 4 faces 6 good balls and the score is added up. After each ball the bowler can decide which batter to bowl to (it can be any of the 4 batters). The fielding team must react and move position, depending on which batter the bowler is bowling to. After 6 good balls the next team goes into bat.

Set up in 2's with 1 bat and ball.Player B must stand opposite to player A, so that they can see the end of the bat when the batters arm is fully outstretched.The aim of the game is for player A to hit the ball into space, and both players race to retrieve the ball first.Player B is in charge of the drill. They shout &quot;CLEAR&quot;. On hearing this call player A self feeds the ball and hits it safely into space.Whoever reaches the ball first is the next player to hit the ball.If you get to the ball 3 times in a row you win a point.

2 Teams, 2 Balls. One of the teams starts throwing the ball to each other. The other team then throws the ball around to try and overtake the ball from team 1. This practice works best with about 4 - 5 players per team.

Working in pairs with one ball per pair players throw the ball back and forth to each other. The object of the exercise is to hit the cone positioned between each pair using an overarm throw.

Teams of 4 try and throw the ball across a pitch as quickly as possible, not missing any players out. The first team to throw the ball 10 times across the pitch is the winner.

Individual goes sideways through the ladders using arms and quick feet. Feeder feeds the ball to the crash mat for a diving catch.

Ball drop and pick up Ground F...

Players work in groups of 5, in a grid with 5 cones set up in a zig-zag formation, roughly 7 metres apart.Each player stands on a cone. All players, except for those queueing behind the first cone require balls.On the coach's call player 1, on the first cone, aims to get to collect the ball that has been dropped from shoulder height by the player on the cone in front of them, before the ball bounces twice.This is one pick-up.Player 1 then gives the ball back to the player on the cone, and sets themself before the coach gives the next call.Again the working player aims to get to the next ball before second bounce.This process is repeated until all players have performed 4 pick-ups.

Catching a High Ball Throwing ...

Set Up: Groups of 3 players. with 2 balls Player A and B 10-15m apart and player C stands in the centre between 2 cones. <hr /> The Drill: Player A throws a high ball to the cone opposite them. Player C moves towards the ball, sets themself, catches the ball, and throws back to player A. Player C then turns and repeats the drill from fielder B. Player C to work for 30 seconds then rotate i.e A to C, C to B, and B to A.

Set up in teams of 6.Players stand diagonally opposite each other about 2 metres apart. The area that the players are working in should be approx 25 metres long.Player 1 has 3 balls (tennis or rounders), and passes them underarm one at a time to player 2 to catch, and so on.Once they have released all 3 balls they can then run on the outside of their line in time to receive a ball from player 6.The rest of the team do the same.The aim is to reach the end of the area without dropping a ball.Once they have reached the end of the area work back in the opposite direction.

The 2nd player in the line throws a high ball over the head of the 1st player, for them to run onto and catch close to the bowling square. Once they have caught the ball they should turn and throw to the fielding player at the 4th post. The 4th post player then throws the ball to the new 2nd player in the line who then repeats the exercise.

Beat the call Conditioned game...

Split your group into two teams: A throwing team and a fielding team. The fielders have to put one player by each post and the rest in the field. Players from the other team have 1 ball each. Each player from the throwing team has to come into the batting square and call out which base they are going to run to. Immediately after call out they must then throw the ball to one of the fielders after which they have to try and beat the ball to the post. The ball then gets thrown back to the square for the next player to call, throw and run.

1 catcher, 5 attackers, and 3 defenders. Cones, tennis ball or rounders ball.There are always more attackers than defenders.Catcher starts in the inner circle and is on the same team as the attackers. The 3 defenders are in the next ring, and the rest of the attackers are in the outer ring.The attackers aim to get the ball to the catcher, and for the defenders to try and intercept.Attackers may pass the ball around the outside of the circle to each other to create space.Teams can move but must stay in their own circle. They are not allowed in anyones else's.Underarm throwing only.Points System: Defenders 1 point for a touch, and 5 points for a catch. Attackers get 1 point every time the catcher receives the ball.

1 player (worker) stands in the middle of a circle of 5 players.The 5 players try and hit the worker with a soft ball below the waist. They score 2 points if they do. The players are not allowed inside the circle.If the ball goes outside of the circle the worker gets 5 points.Player is in the circle for 1 minute then rotate.

4 players 3 balls 1 worker 3 feeders. Feeder 1 throws the ball along the floor for the worker to barrier stop the ball and feed back. the next feeder then throws up a high ball for the worker to catch and return before the last player throws a straight ball into the body to be caught and returned. Next the start again at the beginning. swap after 3 times round.

Get players into groups of 3. One player stands behind the other two players who have their back to them. On the command, <em>'Now'</em>, the player with the ball throws the ball. The two catchers have to both turn quickly and try and catch the ball before it bounces. Rotate players after 10 throws.

Player 1 rolls the ball out for 2 to run in and flicks the ball back to 1 who catches it and puts it down. Player 3 then rolls the ball out towards 1, who runs towards 3, flicks the ball at 3 who catches it and puts the ball down.On completing the throw you join the opposite queue. <br>Aim: First team to take 15 catches wins. If you drop one you go back to 0.

Set up 3 small teams and 3 hoops. The hoops should be placed an equal distance apart with several balls in each (dependant on number of players). The aim of this game is to get rid of all the balls in your hoop one by one by moving them to another team's hoop. Players must carry the ball and place it inside the other team's hoop (no throwing or rolling the ball).

Thrower's palm should point at their partner).<br /><br />The player with the ball throws the ball overarm at the floor, about half way betweem them and their partner. The other player must react to the bounce/bobble and catch the ball.

The rest of the fielders can stand where they like.This game start with a bowl to the hands of the first <em>batting </em>player. The batting player should stand with open hands and catch the ball before throwing it into the fielding area.After throwing the ball out the batting player runs around as many bases as they can.Rules:Players score a point for their team for every complete run they make. Players can be caught or run out in the normal manner.Each player has two goes each before the teams swap around.
