4 ball rounders Ground Fieldin...

1 player hits 4 balls anywhere into the field. Once the batter has hit all the balls they run around all 4 posts as many times as possible, before the fielders get all the balls back into the square.

Ball drop and pick up Ground F...

Players work in groups of 5, in a grid with 5 cones set up in a zig-zag formation, roughly 7 metres apart.Each player stands on a cone. All players, except for those queueing behind the first cone require balls.On the coach's call player 1, on the first cone, aims to get to collect the ball that has been dropped from shoulder height by the player on the cone in front of them, before the ball bounces twice.This is one pick-up.Player 1 then gives the ball back to the player on the cone, and sets themself before the coach gives the next call.Again the working player aims to get to the next ball before second bounce.This process is repeated until all players have performed 4 pick-ups.

One player is batter, one as back-stop, one as first base and other deep fielding. The bowler feeds the ball to the batter. The batter gets several balls feed them to practice hitting.

1 catcher, 5 attackers, and 3 defenders. Cones, tennis ball or rounders ball.There are always more attackers than defenders.Catcher starts in the inner circle and is on the same team as the attackers. The 3 defenders are in the next ring, and the rest of the attackers are in the outer ring.The attackers aim to get the ball to the catcher, and for the defenders to try and intercept.Attackers may pass the ball around the outside of the circle to each other to create space.Teams can move but must stay in their own circle. They are not allowed in anyones else's.Underarm throwing only.Points System: Defenders 1 point for a touch, and 5 points for a catch. Attackers get 1 point every time the catcher receives the ball.

Set up in groups of 5.3 different coloured spots are placed in a triangle in front of the batter, with 3 fielders placed directly in line with the spots about 5m away.Player 3 bowls a tennis ball to player 1 who tries to hit the ball with their hand to players 2, 3, and 4.Group rotates after 3 hits i.e 1 to 5, 5 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 1.

Set up on a full sized rounders pitch or smaller if U10's or below.2 teams of 5 fielding v 5 batting (no bats required)The aim of the game is to develop the over arm throw and as a batter look for the gaps in the field.The bowler bowls the ball to the batter who catches it and throws it into the field.The fielding team field the ball in as normal with the batter running the posts.If a batter is caught out the whole team is out.

Approach the ball at speed and as you get into line with the ball, twist your upper body, leading with the shoulder furthest from the ball. Bend both knees, so that the knee of the leg nearest to the ball touches the ground, but it is also next to the back of the heel of the other leg. With fingers down and head forward, pick up the ball and then stand back up ready to deliver an overarm throw.

1 player (worker) stands in the middle of a circle of 5 players.The 5 players try and hit the worker with a soft ball below the waist. They score 2 points if they do. The players are not allowed inside the circle.If the ball goes outside of the circle the worker gets 5 points.Player is in the circle for 1 minute then rotate.

Set up: 6 players, rounders balls, posts. The drill: The bowler bowls the ball to the batter who catches the ball, and rolls it to fielder 1. Fielder 1 throws the ball into the 2nd post, which should now be occupied by the runner from post 1, who only runs to second once the batter has caught the ball. Fielders 2 and 3 form a triangle with the post to back up the throw. The triangle should be in line with wherever the ball is coming from. The batter could run to put pressure on the fielders

Set up: Split players into two teams (no more than 5v5 - set up several mini-games if necessary). Pitch marked out with 2 goals. Size will depend upon your players' ability and numbers in the group but 20m by 10m is a good starting point. The Game: This is an invasion game and the aim is to score a goal by rolling the ball through the oppositions goal. Rules: Roll only to score. Cannot move with the ball, defending team must be a metre away from the player with the ball. <div class=&quot;&quot;practiceText&quot;&quot;>If the ball hits an attacking players' foot in open play the ball is given to the defending team. If the ball hits your team's foot from an attempt at goal then a penalty is awarded. The penalty is taken from behind the half way line and only one player can defend it from the corner of the pitch. On the coach's call of &quot;GO&quot; the attacker rolls the ball and the defender can run across to defend the shot.</div>

Players are on two posts. The ball is fed to the player on the first post who touches their base with the ball then throws the ball to the next base. This player touches the ball into the base and runs with the ball back to the feeder.

2 Teams, 2 Balls. One of the teams starts throwing the ball to each other. The other team then throws the ball around to try and overtake the ball from team 1. This practice works best with about 4 - 5 players per team.

Set up: Players in the middle (players 2 and 3) stand back to back and opposite their partners (players 1 and 4), about 5 metres apart, but they gradually move further away up to a distance of 9 metres (this is distance from bowler to batter). Player work in teams of 4. The Game: Player throw the ball back and forth and are listening to instructions from the coach. Players are not allowed to move with the ball and are throwing underarm to their partner's waist.

If a batter reaches 2nd post and 3rd is stumped, but then the ball is throw and not caught by the bowler, can the batter continue her run to 3rd and 4th? Would she be out, would she score half, would she score a full rounder?
