Inside / Outside Throwing

Set up: Players in the middle (players 2 and 3) stand back to back and opposite their partners (players 1 and 4), about 5 metres apart, but they gradually move further away up to a distance of 9 metres (this is distance from bowler to batter). Player work in teams of 4. The Game: Player throw the ball back and forth and are listening to instructions from the coach. Players are not allowed to move with the ball and are throwing underarm to their partner's waist.

Collect, Turn and Throw Skills...

Players take it in turns to run out to the rolling ball, bend down, pick it up and then turn and throw it back to their partner. When picking up the ball players should aim to put their non-throwing side foot on the outside of the ball. A right-hander would place their left foot to the outside of the ball. They would then bend down, twist as they stand up and then throw back.

Split your players into two teams. The fielding side will need a bowler, a back stop and a player on first base. The rest of the fielders can stand where they like.This game start with a bowl to the hands of the first <em>batting </em>player. The batting player should stand with open hands and catch the ball before throwing it into the fielding area.After throwing the ball out the batting player runs around as many bases as they can.Rules:Players score a point for their team for every complete run they make. Players can be caught or run out in the normal manner.Each player has two goes each before the teams swap around.

Approach the ball at speed and as you get into line with the ball, twist your upper body, leading with the shoulder furthest from the ball. Bend both knees, so that the knee of the leg nearest to the ball touches the ground, but it is also next to the back of the heel of the other leg. With fingers down and head forward, pick up the ball and then stand back up ready to deliver an overarm throw.

This player collects the ball and runs to the middle to put the ball on the cone. The next player then runs to collect the ball and rolls the ball for next player waiting.

Place a cone 10m from the first and last balls.Player A starts on the first cone and runs and picks up the first ball with 2 hands, assume the &quot;set throw&quot; position, and throws to player B on the other cone.Player B retreats 10m and puts the ball down.Repeat with the other 2 balls as above. Then your partner will throw back to you.Repeat the process.

The worker is 3 metres away to the side of mat. The feeder feeds the 6 balls out of the side of their hand for the worker to catch and then drop as many as possible.
