Sportplan rugby has played a large role in my team's love for the game!
Hi everyone. I coach an under 12's rugby union squad. We have a great pack of forwards and some good backs. However, linking the 2 with the 9 and 10 are proving to be difficult. We cannot seem to get across to the number 10 about passing it rather than running it 99 times out of 100. Any suggestions or drills would be most gratefully recieved. Many thanks
My son is 10 years old and plays for school under 12 team as a outside center. he is average and appreciate for some advice on nutrician and drills which suits a center. nawushad
Hi there. Does anyone have any session plans on back row support of 12 taking quick ball off the top of a lineout?
What is the best way to coach a blitz defence from scratch?

U11 Rugby I am coaching the U11's this season. There are some significant rule changes from U10. Please can I get some advice on what lessons were learned from coaches who have been through a similar experience.
My number 10 has a habit of running across on first phase ball thus our backs lack any go foward ball most times. Any ideas how we can remedy this habit will be a great help.
I am hoping to take our U11-U12 team to a mini rugby tournament in Italy in May. What are the main rule differences between UK and Italian mini rugby at this age group?
I have just started helping our head coach with under12's team. He wants to retire and has put me forward to be head coach next season. I am a little worried on how i should aproach training with the boys, going to a full 15 a side team on a full pitch. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Any advice as to where rest of forwards should line up without getting in way of fly half and other backs for example in a 3 man lineout?
Looking a doing a session from scrum where 12 man comes short and it being in 3 phases. any ideas?
We have two very fast wingers but we cannot get them the ball . Teams are coming up fast and we are lucky to get the ball to the O. C. We have tried setting up further back but too many times we are getting caught behind the gain lines when we do that. Any ideas?
Any "simple" attacking moves from a scrum that you can recommend for a U15s XV side. Looking to get them to think about how the back line would would set up and have different options from a) center field and b) tight left or right all at the half way mark.
can anyoune suggest some line out moves for under 12s?
need a great drill for 12 coming short from a scrum and developed into 3rd phase with key coaching points. Anyone share?
For school assignment, i am teaching 12-13 year old girls rugby and need tackling drills
I coach under 8's and next season they will start contact. When am I allowed to start teaching them tackling skills? I sit january during their under 8 season or at the start of the under 9 season ?
I've a few players who genuinely do not like tackling but love the game in every other facet. Does anybody have experience indealing with this predicament. We have practiced the basic techniques repeatedly but when it comes to game time these kidsjust won't engage with the shoulder but use outstretched arms in a feeble attempt to tackle. It can be very frustrating ....
The law says that a forward pass is one "thrown forward" "in the direction of the opponents' goal line" Does that mean that, if the ball is passed and the receiver catches it NEARER to the opponents goal line than from where the ball was passed that the pass was forward? (Leaving to one side any other touches of the ball that might have taken place.) Maybe an example is better. Player 1 passes the ball sideways - releasing it on the 22 metre line. Player 2 (with no other player having touched the ball), running from well behind the 22 metre line, catches the ball when it has travelled sideways but the ball is now 20 metres from the opponents goal line (2 metres further forward from the place that the ball was passed). Is that a forward pass or throw forward? And if not, why not?
