Good drills for evasion;step,swerve,etc?
There is no doubt that the top players in the world have all been exposed to the top coaching that the world can offer. So why is it that when I watch international matches I am forever seeing players pass the ball behind the shoulder of the receiving player, or stood still waiting to receive a pass, or having to jump up in the air to catch the ball before they can set off on their run ? If the U11's that I coach did those things then I would be 'tutting' into my cocoa, cos mostly they don't ! ..........or am i alone in my analysis?
HOW CAN I IMPROVE PLAYERS ABILITY TO PERFORM THE LATERAL PASS ?

Hi folks, I have been coaching children from 7 to 16 years for along time. I now have a new challenge. We are opening rugby up for children from 2 years to 7 years. We will also be holding classes for children with special needs and would appreciate any tips or dialogue with coaches who have any experience. I look forward to exchanging views and results with any coaches willing to share. We will hold a few test sessions in the near future and will stay in touch. Many thanks. Kieron .Hong Kong. Just wondering if anyone has formed a basic game plan for a 2nd year tackle team (U9) and how it went. I am thinking that the forwards at this age would be quicker to the breakdown if they knew exactly where the play will end up on the field...Thoughts and opinions please
Hi. I am in charge of the Mini Rugby (age 8) warm-up and am interested in more ideas. I try and keep them fun, sports specific and interesting for the boys and they seem to like what I do. Can anyone please help? Thanks!
I have just started helping our head coach with under12's team. He wants to retire and has put me forward to be head coach next season. I am a little worried on how i should aproach training with the boys, going to a full 15 a side team on a full pitch. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I coach a 15s team and the players are asking about a basic gym workout, any ideas.
I am teaching a PE class basics of rugby and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on sequencing, I have them for 5 days and only 50 minutes per day. I was going to start with basic rules and ball handling and back lines, then rucking, then scrums, tackling (these kids love full contact), then on the last day hopefully play either sevens or unopposed. I am hoping to eventually start a club or team at this school. Suggestions?
I have started an under 10s team up, and I would say about 8 from the 13 children I have , did not play rugby until about 6 months ago. Of these players, there seems to be a lot of potential, as we are scoring tries against teams, that very rarely concede tries.the problem I got with them, is that we are very poor at organising our selves in defense when the opposition has the ball, which does result in us conceding quite a few tries. We have some very good tacklers in the team. Can anyone offer some ideas on how I can get them to organise themselves? Thanks . Chris.
what are the rules of tag rugby?
I've a few players who genuinely do not like tackling but love the game in every other facet. Does anybody have experience indealing with this predicament. We have practiced the basic techniques repeatedly but when it comes to game time these kidsjust won't engage with the shoulder but use outstretched arms in a feeble attempt to tackle. It can be very frustrating ....
