Sportplan rugby has played a large role in my team's love for the game!
They are a very fast club with a lot of skill and pace. Though they tend to fall short in the more physical aspects of the game. We beat them last year by pounding them into submission with our forwards, but their speed always makes them very dangerous. The best player is their flyhalf, who is also shy in contact. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help guys, their aren't too many coaches to talk to down here in Guatemala.
I have started coaching under 8. where do i start with these bundle of energies? Any Videos coaching available some where?
My U11's are a mixed bunch when it comes to tackling. Some very good, most OK, some ...hmmmm... enough said. Been through all the drills and when we break things down, go back to basics, everything appears OK, but it doesn't always transfer into the game. Any ideas on small group games that will allow me to combine technique with confidence?
My guys in Cape Verde can't seem to get the concept of a good pass... They just throw the ball in the general direction of the closest player and there is always SO MUCH scrambling around on the ground to get it again. I've showed them video clips on you tube of drills and real games, I tell them every day that if they make good passes to their teammates then they save the time of fumbling around on the ground for the ball, but they seem to almost enjoy doing that....any ideas??
We have a large squad and need a transparent way to assess our players to justify the team selection - does anyone know of, or use an assessment tool to assess skills in this age group?
i shall be starting coaching later this month, hope fully the under 6s agegroup. does any one have any drills or ball games suitable for this age group? thank you, chris.
I am looking for ideas on how my under 11s team can re organise after the breakdowns etc. they are a good bunch of players, but I am finding it difficult to get them to spread the field after breakdowns . I am wondering if there any drills here to do this? Thanks all
Getting quite frustrated that my u10's are not using the space on the pitch and tend to bunch up. Despite various drills and game scenarios to force them to spread out and pass to someone in space they revert in any game to bunching up around the ball and taking it back into the thick of the opposition rather than looking left or right! Any ideas how to change their ways?
I am currently coaching an U8s tag team, is ther any drills to teach them to stay onside after a tag and to stay spread out as they seem to bunch very quickly
