How to teach the front on tackle to 10 year olds
What is the best way of preventing / defending against pancaking in the lineout after the receiver has caught the ball?
Line-outs - scenario is that in a line out, the lifters hold the jumper up for a lengthy time - is there a law or regulation covers this? Should the lifters/jumper be allowed to do this or should he be lifted and lowered immediately upon receipt of the ball? Thanks

Our U12 fly half is a talented yet small player but only seems to tackle when a player has already gone by and he uses his pace to takle from behind/side. Is there a drill to improve his confidence tackling face on.
Breakdown. I play openside flanker and could anyone offer any advice on effecting turnovers, now that you have to release the player once they've gone to ground?

As well as coaching U10 rugby, I also get to referee U10 games, under the New Rules Of Play. I feel that my refereeing of the ruck isn't as good as it could/should be. Has anyone got an easy to follow system to help them referee U10 rucks ?
I am looking for a Day 0 type of session for American children who may have never held a rugby ball. If I move forward with a rugby exhibition/team creation in the neighborhood, I want to make sure I know how/what to teach Day 0. I'm hoping that interest is growing for touch and flag rugby due to the recent in Philadelphia between the USA Eagles and the Maori All Blacks. I was there. It was fantastic. Moving up to coach U10 - unclear on what aspect of the rules. Rule 6.o references rule 6m(iii) and states - 'If m)iii. above has taken place, the next arriving player must pass the ball to another player.'6M(iii) allows (after a tackle) a supporting player to pick up the ball and run as long as a ruck has not been formed.So...does this mean that unlike in U9 the 'scrum half' doesn't have to pass the ball from the tackle and can pick and go? This would appear to be the intention of 6m(iii). If so, then what is the purpose and intent of 6.o? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App

My fowards seem afraid to ruck and stand around the ruck while in the way of the scrum half trying to get the ball out to the backs. They also don't support the ball carrier while he is being tackled. Please help me with any suggestions!!!
Simon My son's PE teacher has told him that Bridging is lieegal for the U13 to U19 group. His Club coach has been encouraging its use in games for two seasons. I can see some of the dangers but also the advantages Who is right is it banned or can it be used? Paul submitted by email

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
