DESCRIPTION

GK starts with the ball. GK plays the ball long to one of the attackers (blue team) this is unopposed and they cannot be challenged when receiving this. The blue team then aim to play out from the back attacking the goal, using all the players in the team where appropriate. The defenders (red team) aim to stop the attack and the ball being played out from the back towards their goal If the defenders win the ball back they aim to counter attack and score by running the ball through one of the 3 goals made of cones.

COACHING POINTS

look for good vision and switches of play. players receiving the ball back to goal special awareness play the offside rule against the attacking team. Limit the number of touches or how goals can be scored, i.e. has to be scored from a cross, has to be a header, everyone has to touch the ball again before they score, certain number of passes or a time limit to counter for the defence.
