Set up field 25x20 or 20x20. Two teams on opposite sides, each with a line in each of their corners. Coach calls a color to start with the ball. First player from each corner enters the field. Play 2v2 to goal. If a shot or goal is made, team that was shot on launches a new attack with next players. Team that shot remains on to defend, while team that was shot on steps off and returns to their lines. If ball goes out of sideline, both teams are off and coach calls new color to launch next attack. Continue until certain # of goals scored or time is up.
-Stay MENTALLY engaged and awake. Don't shut off. -Use skill moves and change of speed/direction to win 1v1s -Keep the ball close and don't show ball to the defender -"Take your space" (dribble) and draw in the defender before passing -How can you and your teammate "make the game bigger" when on attack? -Defense: Who should pressure the ball? (player closest) What should their teammate do? (drop back to cover) -What do we protect first on defense? (the goal)
