
Red (Defenders) get a number whilst Yellow (Attackers) get given a letter. The coach will then shout out a pairing such as "D3" or "A2" this will bring Yellow A and Red 2 into a 1v1 battle. This creates random situations such as a wide player attacking a central area or a central player attacking a wide area. It will also promote defenders to instinctively defend recognising dangers and what areas of the pitch to steer attackers too.
