Each time the players run through the corridor they will perform a different skill. Left side (Red) working Right foot and Right side (Blue) working Left foot. Imagining the cone is a defender. Exercise 1 - OUTSIDE OF THE FOOT. Rotate around the cone 2 times. Exercise 2 - V-CUTS. Exercise 3 - ROLL OVERS. Exercise 4 - DRAG BACKS. Exercise 5 - INSIDE OF THE FOOT. Rotate around the cone 2 times. After each player has completed each exercise they will run down the outside of the circiut and carry the drill and shoot at goal. PROGRESSION: (1) The coach can start to shadow players applying a little pressure at the cones so that the players will have to shield the ball and retain possession. (2) Optional. Add a goalkeeper to make placing shots more difficult. (3) Place hoops in the corners of the goal to promote accuracy of shooting from the players. Challenge them with a points per goal game through a hoop. 2 points for a normal goal and 5 points through the hoop for example. Author: Jason King, Windsor FC Youth
