DRILL TYPE: Movement Work on helping developing movement and reflex catching skills. SETUP: Use a big tennis ball or playground ball. Students form a circle, facing away from the coach. The coach stands in the middle, dropping a ball onto the ground. Have the children number off, the coach simply calls out that number of the players, who must quickly turn around and runs towards the ball, trying to catch after as few bounces as possible. TIPS: For older players, challenge them to catch the ball in the air. To add more movement challenge, simple start the players out by having them stand on the outside of a bigger circle. SAFETY: Ensure players are well spread out.
