Hockey: Right to Left Rotation

DESCRIPTION

As with the Right to Left rotation, players play out a 3 v 2 counter attack if the defenders win the ball back.

    Rotation Game:

    Left to right rotation. Feeders can receive the ball back from the attackers. If the defenders get the ball back, play out a 3 v 2 counter attack against the feeders.

    Playing against Dice defence:

    It is important that the team in possession plays the ball around and down the boards into the midfield players and back until the shape of the dice is lost and attack down the board to play the ball to the opposite side for the up coming midfielder to score an open goal.

    Rotations:

    Work on the rotation. This is the standard pattern - Left-Right (L-R) rotation, and will be made reference to in the next few drills. Players make the leads in an anti-clockwise direction.

    Game Rules

  • 3 on 3 attacking in half the pitch
  • 2 defenders used as feeders.
  • forwards roll the simple rotation pattern.
  • Forwards can use the feeders to keep possession.

  • When the defence win back the ball they play out a 3 v 2 against the feeders.
