What is a wall pass?

ANSWERS

Hi Sheree,

A wall pass in field hockey is a technique where a player makes a pass to a teammate and then immediately moves to receive the ball back. This is often used to bypass a defender and create space for an attacking play. The wall pass can be executed with one or two touches, depending on the positions of the players involved.

For more details on drills involving wall passes, you can check out the "Wall Pass Circuit - 2 v 1" drill, which involves a sequence of wall passes leading to a 2v1 situation at the top of the circle.

I hope this helps,

Cam
