Hi Mandy,

Here are some easy and fun field hockey drills you can try with your team:

  1. Spy Tag: This is a great drill for younger players. All players have a stick and a ball, except one who is the "catcher." The catcher tags players, who then stand still until another player pushes the ball between their feet to free them.
  2. Pull Back and Lift: Set up cones in a staggered pattern. Players dribble through the cones, perform a pull-back at the end, and lift the ball over the top cones. It's excellent for improving ball control.
  3. Confusion: Players dribble around cones in a figure-eight pattern, improving their ability to change direction while maintaining control.
  4. Relays: Dribbling: Players dribble the ball onto another player's stick and move off at pace. This drill is great for improving dribbling speed and control .

These drills are not only simple but also engaging, making them perfect for keeping your sessions lively and fun.

I hope this helps,

Cam
