Hi Jane, A "high press" in hockey is a defensive strategy where the team applies pressure on the opposition high up the pitch, often in the opponent's half. The goal is to force the opposition into making mistakes, intercept the ball, and create scoring opportunities. The high press requires all players to be disciplined and work together to close down passing lanes and pressure the ball carrier. It's an aggressive tactic that can be very effective but also risky if not executed properly, as it can leave the pressing team vulnerable to counter-attacks.
