how do you tea h midfielders to track back after they loose a ball?
Hi Judy,
To teach midfielders to track back after losing the ball:
1. Emphasise Immediate Reaction: Train them to instinctively sprint back the moment possession is lost.
2. Define Marking Responsibility: Assign each midfielder a zone or player to cover when tracking back, so they know where to position themselves.
3. Drill Transition Scenarios: Use small-sided games where losing the ball means an immediate sprint back to defensive positions.
4. Reward Defensive Efforts: Acknowledge and reward effective tracking to build a habit.
Consistent practice will make tracking back automatic.
I hope this helps,
Cam
